Greetings from Montreal Michel and Patti
Hi Don,
It seems this is the best way to keep in touch!
If we had any talent whatsoever for drawing, we would draw cartoons of all the
fun things we did together shooting Sesame Street with you. Remember, we
called you the "human muppet", but really you were a lot cuter! (Not to mention
the fact that you had a big advantage over them, having legs and all.) Who knew
that you were not only an expert visual artist/animator, but also a great
performer in front of a camera that had absolutely nothing to do with animation?
Whether you were digging for gold as a pirate or giving attitude as a mafia
'Don' beside a black Lincoln Continental (what were
we thinking?), juggling circus balls or disappearing into the only London phone
booth in Montreal, there was no one with whom we laughed so much while doing a
perfectly executed professional job. Such pleasure while working should really
be declared illegal. And you became a stop-on-the-street celebrity with the
pre-school set - the most honest of fans!
And then there was the drama for CBC that you wrote for Michel -and also
performed in if memory serves. The one-line cameo of the Italian janitor - "Scuzi"
. Such a chameleon... or rather a man of so many talents.
It's always fun to reminisce
n'est-ce pas, but the energy now is needed to go forward. So channel the love
and affection we have for you into the healing process. We are thinking of you
and send our very best.
Much love,
Michel & Patti
