Visit to Ottawa Glen McGregor
Hi, Don. I have warm memories of you visiting our family in Ottawa in the
mid- to late seventies. You were something of a celebrity in our house, best
known as the creator of Hot Stuff, which my father would lug home from the NFB
in a metal film can and play for us on real live film projector. "Mouse
flambeau" is a favourite remembered line. I still say, "Cream, could I have some
cream" in a feline voice when making coffee, a habit that puzzles my wife.
This was a long time ago but I still have two distinct memories... the
drawings you left for my brother and I, and accidentally flipping a dime into
your apple juice at breakfast when you indulged my attempts to demonstrate a
disappearing coin magic trick.
I look forward to introducing my kids, now 6 and 2, to some of your work --
on DVD, not 16mm, of course.
Be well, and sorry about the juice.
Glen
