Remember When...?
Marian Jones

Dear Don -

I remember so well the first time I met you,  eons ago.  You, Chuck and I had dinner at  L.A.'s notorious Barney's Beanery.  I think that was the first time we met your inseparable  animation couple, Jimmy  and Vicky!

But my favorite memory from that time was the day you walked down Sunset Blvd, toward our  office, dressed in shorts, tank top, and what  looked like an ammunition belt.  Tucked into  the belt, instead of ammo, were 24 different  colors of ink pens.  You did attract a bit of attention, even in jaded old Hollywood!

So many good times.  You and Rosie, me and Chuck at the Telluride Film Festival.  Your  many years of work with Chuck - he valued  your friendship and your talent so highly.  The two of you bringing some life-saving humor to  those serious seminars on childhood education.   Many a dinner and bottle of wine.

We sorely missed your company after  you  moved to England.  But the memories were  ever there.  Richest of treasures.  Sending all my love.
